A groundbreaking moment in Mumbai’s education landscape unfolded today as the Nita Mukesh Ambani Junior School (NMAJS) was introduced, poised to revolutionize teaching and learning. Situated adjacent to the Dhirubhai Ambani International School (DAIS) in the Bandra-Kurla Complex, this state-of-the-art campus is designed to provide flexible learning environments, encourage collaboration among students, and offer personalized instruction.
NMAJS is set to carry forward the legacy of excellence established by DAIS since its inception in 2003, under the visionary leadership of Mrs. Nita Ambani. A passionate educator at heart, Mrs. Nita Ambani, Founder, and chairperson, has propelled DAIS to become India’s top international school and one of the world’s top 20 IB schools in just two decades.
DAIS has now given life to the Nita Mukesh Ambani Junior School, reflecting a commitment to excellence and innovation.
Addressing the occasion, Mrs. Nita Ambani, Founder, and chairperson, stated, “Our aim was always to make DAIS a joyful school where teaching brings pleasure and learning sparks joy. Looking back, we are humbled by the positive impact we’ve had on the lives of thousands of children and their families in just two decades. With a deep sense of gratitude and optimism, we look to the future as the new generation takes the lead, committed to upholding this culture of excellence. I am honored to dedicate this new temple of learning, NMAJS, to the city of Mumbai and the entire nation.”
Ms. Isha Ambani, Vice-Chairperson and the driving force behind the vision and development of this futuristic school, added, “My mother, my role model, envisioned DAIS as an international school with an Indian mind, heart, and soul, transforming education in India in remarkable ways. NMAJS is built on the foundational principles and strengths of DAIS, with the overarching goal of equipping children with 21st-century skills.”
The Vaastu Pooja of NMAJS was conducted on this auspicious occasion, coinciding with Mrs. Nita Ambani’s birthday.
The NMAJS campus was designed by renowned architects, Perkins&Will, and constructed by Leighton, known for building state-of-the-art campuses. NMAJS will provide the IB Primary Years Programme (PYP) and Middle Years Programme (MYP) curriculum as a full-fledged international school.
Teacher competence and dedication are pivotal in shaping the future of any school, and NMAJS has attracted top talents from around the world to align with its vision. The unwavering support of parents is also crucial in an educational institution’s mission, and NMAJS is fortunate to have their wholehearted support.
NMAJS aspires to be a child-friendly institution, a joyful school committed to preparing the next generation with the skills and values needed for the 21st century.
