Phir Aayi Haseen Dillruba Movie Review – The Plot Overview:

The highly awaited follow-up to the 2021 thriller Haseen Dillruba is now released as a sequel called Phir Aayi Haseen Dillruba. The sequel picks up where the original movie left off, exploring the complex relationships and unanswered questions surrounding the major protagonists in further detail. The story revolves around Rani (Taapsee Pannu), who goes back to Agra to continue developing her intricate relationships with Neel and Rishu (Vikrant Massey). When Neel’s uncle shows up, the narrative takes a darker turn since he is keen to find out what really happened to cause Neel to die. Even if there are some recurring themes, the audience is kept interested by the ongoing inquiry and surprising turns.

Phir Aayi Haseen Dillruba Movie Review – The Storyline:

Since the plot revolves around the same characters from the previous movie, seeing the first one is a prerequisite for understanding the sequel. Pulp fiction is the story’s primary inspiration, with elements of suspense and criminality driving the plot. Even while the plot tries to heighten the suspense and drama of the first film, it periodically slips into predictability, especially for fans of the genre.

Phir Aayi Haseen Dillruba Movie Review – Let’s Talk About Acting:

Vikrant Massey once again shines in his role as Rishu, delivering a top-class performance that showcases his range and depth as an actor. He is one of the underrated actors in Bollywood.  His portrayal of the troubled yet loving husband is compelling and believable. Sunny Kaushal, a new addition to the cast, makes a strong impression with his charismatic presence and convincing performance. Taapsee Pannu, although solid in her role, doesn’t bring anything particularly new to the table, sticking to her usual style. Jimmy Sheirgill and Abhijeet, both talented actors, are unfortunately underutilized, with limited screen time that doesn’t do justice to their potential.

Phir Aayi Haseen Dillruba Movie Review – The Direction:

Jayprad Desai’s directing is solid; it keeps the film’s suspense and pacing just right. But occasionally, the direction comes across as a little conventional, depending more on tried-and-true clichés than on daring, original chances. The movie does a good job of holding the viewer’s attention, but it lacks the creative flair that would have made it something truly unforgettable.

Vishal Sinha’s cinematography is visually striking and effectively conveys both the darker aspects of the plot and the spirit of Agra. The suspenseful mood of the picture is enhanced by the effective use of lighting and framing, which also improves the entire viewing experience. The cinematography aids in creating the necessary tension for the tale, and the images are clear.

Phir Aayi Haseen Dillruba Movie Review – The Screenplay:

Compared to the first instalment, the screenplay has significantly improved, especially in its attention to the suspense components. Character interactions are skillfully handled, and the conversation is incisive and captivating. The narrative does, however, occasionally suffer from predictability, particularly in the surprises that might not come as a surprise to more seasoned viewers. The screenplay could have benefited from greater creativity and nuance in its plot development, but the pacing is consistent.

Phir Aayi Haseen Dillruba Movie Review – Final Verdict:

Phir Aayi Haseen Dillruba is a gripping follow-up that provides viewers with just the right amount of drama and tension. Even while it might not be as good as the first part or pioneer new territory in the thriller genre, it’s still a worthwhile viewing, particularly for those who enjoyed the first part. The film’s attractiveness is increased by the better screenplay and the performances, which stand out, especially for Vikrant Massey and Sunny Kaushal. It is advisable to have reasonable expectations, though, as the movie does have a fair amount of predictable scenes and loose possibilities.
