Following are spoilers for Ms. Marvel episode 6: Kamala Khan’s appearance in the Ms. Marvel post-credits scene foreshadows an intriguing future for her in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
On Wednesday afternoon, the final episode of Ms. Marvel debuted on Disney+ and Disney+ Hotstar, with the action shifting back to Jersey City from Karachi. After dealing with the Clandestine, Kamala Khan and her family traveled back to the US to deal with the plot’s one unresolved issue. The previous two episodes focused on the history and culture of the Indian subcontinent, while episode 6 went back to the MCU’s staple of CGI-driven action. And it ended with a mid-credits scene that outlined the character’s future, much like most MCU productions do.
There will be spoilers for Ms. Marvel episode 6!
Kamala and Najma squared off in Ms. Marvel episode 5 as they tried to break through the Veil to the Noor dimension, the Clandestines’ home. Kamran, Najma’s son, was given powers by his mother towards the end of the episode. And the core of episode 6 was how Kamala and Kamran handled this new development.
With Kamala beginning to understand the superhero thing, the episode finished on an upbeat, hopeful note, but hold on—more. there’s We glimpse Kamala in her room once more as the credits begin to roll. In the distance, she can hear her mother telling her to finish her science homework. Then the bangle that gives her strength starts to glow. When Kamala tentatively stands up to inspect her bracelet, there is an explosion that sends the adolescent flying back into her closet and blows a hole through the door.
After the chaos has subsided, Carol Danvers, aka Captain Marvel, who is Kamala’s hero and idol, appears from the closet. She appears to be as shocked as the rest of us to be in this situation. Carol rolls her eyes and says, “Oh no, no, no!” as she looks around the room where she has magically teleported to and notices numerous pictures and posters of herself. Then, as the image fades to dark and a message says, “Ms. Marvel and Captain. Marvel will return in The Marvels,” she dashes out.
The cameo wasn’t altogether unexpected. In the books and on the show, Kamala Khan has been a huge fan of Carol Danvers, and even the name of her superhero comes from Carol. However, it seems doubtful that a major character like Captain Marvel would arrive given that Ms. Marvel had been kept away from the splendor of MCU for the entirety of the six episodes. In that regard, the show’s writers and the MCU’s designers came up with a sensible and natural solution.
In the Nia DaCosta-directed film The Marvels, Teyonah Parris, who previously played Monica Rambeau in WandaVision, co-stars with Brie. Earlier episodes of that programme had already demonstrated Monica’s ability to both absorb and use energy. This will make them a potent trifecta when combined with Carol’s nearly invincible abilities and Kamala’s cosmic bracelet. Zawe Ashton also appears in the movie as a bad guy. It has long been known that Ms. Marvel plays a significant role in The Marvels, the Captain Marvel direct sequel in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. All three of the actors who play Kamala’s family members are expected to make an appearance, along with Iman Vellani, who plays Kamala. But the mid-credits sequence did provide an explanation of how they wanted to include her in it. The brief scenario demonstrates that Carol’s abilities and Kamala’s bracelet may be connected in some way, as it appears that this link allowed them to appear to trade places. The two characters’ adventure as they struggle to understand why they have switched places and figure out how to return things to normal will presumably be followed by The Marvels.

Marvel Studios still has lots of projects to finish up more backstory before The Marvels hits theatres in July. Even a post-credits scene in a future series or movie might show how Monica fits into that narrative. However, the movie would undoubtedly be significant because it would be the first in the MCU to feature an all-female superhero team and because one of the characters is a black woman and the other is a 16-year-old brown child.v
