Mumbai, September 8, 2023: The organizers of the Pro Kabaddi League (PKL), Mashal Sports, have announced new dates for the Season 10 Player Auction. The auction will now take place on October 9th and 10th, 2023.

Originally, the PKL Season 10 Player Auction was scheduled for September 8-9. However, it was postponed due to a request from the Amateur Kabaddi Federation of India, which needed time for the Indian kabaddi team’s preparations for the Asian Games happening later this month.

Mr. Anupam Goswami, the League Commissioner of Pro Kabaddi League, said, “We’re excited to announce that the Player Auction for Pro Kabaddi League Season 10 will happen right after the Asian Games. We expect strong fan interest as star performers from the Asian Games will attract competitive bidding from PKL teams.”

In the upcoming Player Auction, domestic and overseas players will be categorized into four groups: A, B, C, and D. These groups will further be divided into ‘All-Rounders,’ ‘Defenders,’ and ‘Raiders.’ The base prices for each category are as follows: Category A – INR 30 Lakh, Category B – INR 20 Lakh, Category C – INR 13 Lakh, and Category D – INR 9 Lakh. More than 500 players will be part of the Season 10 Player Pool, including 24 players from the Khelo India University Games 2023. Each franchise will have a purse of INR 5 crore.

PKL teams have already started building their squads for Season 10 based on the League Player Policy. In August 2023, teams had the option to retain players from their Season 9 squads in three categories: Elite Retained Players (ERP), Retained Young Players (RYP), and Existing New Young Players (ENYP). A total of 84 players were retained, with 22 in the ERP category, 24 in the RYP category, and 38 in the ENYP category. Star players like Pawan Sehrawat, Vikash Kandola, and Fazel Atrachali, who were not retained, will be part of the PKL Season 10 Player Auction.

With the support of the Amateur Kabaddi Federation of India (AKFI), Mashal Sports, and Disney Star, the Pro Kabaddi League has become one of India’s most successful sports leagues. It features the highest number of matches among all sports leagues in India and has elevated the sport of Kabaddi and its athletes both nationally and globally.
