After much anticipation, the shoot for Allu Arjun and Rashmika Mandanna’s superhit film’s sequel – Pushpa: The Rule – has begun today. Rashmika Mandanna teased fans with a glimpse of the Pooja ceremony. The film will also feature Fahadh Faasil in a negative light. The production company revealed the news about the film on Sunday.
The Geetha Govindam actress took to Instagram to share a photo of the deities as well as a clapboard with the date 22-08-2022. She captioned the photo, “Pushpa 2: Let’s Go!”
Earlier on Sunday, Mythri Movie Makers took to Instagram and shared an announcement poster revealing that Pushpa 2 is about to begin filming. They also announced that a special pooja will be held on Monday, August 22. “#PushpaRaj has returned!” The caption read, “This time to Rule #PushpaTheRule Pooja Ceremony tomorrow.”
Pushpa, which was released in December 2021, was a huge success not only in Telugu-speaking states but also in Hindi circuits. With its Hindi version, the film grossed more than Rs 100 crore.
Director Sukumar is keeping mum about Pushpa 2’s plot and cast. According to movie crew members, Sukumar has finished the script and storyline. It was recently reported that Manoj Bajpayee will most likely appear in Pushpa 2. He could play the role of a cop. However, he denied the allegations in an interview with News18 Shows.
Meanwhile, the team has decided on Pushpa’s budget, which may cross the Pushpa part one. Part one was budgeted at around Rs.200 crore. According to India Today, the production cost of Pushpa: The Rule alone could be Rs. 200 crore. The budget is expected to be around Rs.400 crore. According to reports, the sequel will be released in theatres next year.
