The Organization for Rare Diseases India (ORDI) is gearing up for its annual flagship event, Racefor7, a marathon aimed at raising awareness about rare diseases in India. Scheduled to take place across 15 cities on February 25, the event serves as a platform to educate the public about the challenges faced by individuals and families affected by rare diseases.
Expansion and Reach
Originating in Bengaluru in 2016, Racefor7 has evolved into a nationwide movement, with participation expected from over 20,000 individuals this year. The event will span cities including Mumbai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Ahmedabad, Chennai, Kochi, Pune, Mysuru, Davangere, Hubballi, Asansol, Kozhikode, and Coimbatore. Emphasizing the theme “ONE NATION, ONE DAY – TOGETHER FOR RARE,” Racefor7 aims to unite communities across India in support of rare disease patients.
The Ahmedabad leg of Racefor7 will kick off from LJ University grounds in Makarba, Ahmedabad, with the run commencing at 7 am. The event will be inaugurated by IPS ACP Mr. Neeraj Badgujarand. Participants can register for the marathon through the Racefor7 website.

Registration Details and Categories
Participants can register for Racefor7 at a fee of INR 699 for regular runners, with a discounted rate of INR 399 for students. Rare disease patients, individuals with disabilities, and their caregivers can participate free of charge. Participants in this category will receive a kit containing a T-shirt, medal, e-certificate, and complimentary breakfast, fostering inclusivity and support within the marathon community.
