Rahul Chahar, a leg-spinner for Team India and Punjab Kings, is expected to become the second cricketer to marry before the next Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 season. Chahar will tie the knot with Glenn Maxwell of the Royal Challengers Bangalore before the T20 league begins.
On Wednesday, Rahul Chahar will marry Ishani in a destination wedding in Goa (March 9). The couple has been engaged since 2019, and their wedding event is set to take place on Saturday (March 12). Ishani is a Bengaluru-based fashion designer.
Other Indian players will attend his wedding, including cousin and Team India all-rounder Deepak Chahar of the Chennai Super Kings (CSK).
According to the InsideSport website, Rahul’s family has already arrived at their location.
The 22-year-old leg-spinner has taken seven wickets in six T20I appearances for India. After earning his first cap against Sri Lanka in 2021, he has only played one ODI match. After taking three wickets in his ODI debut, he made an impression.
Rahul Chahar, a former Mumbai Indians leggie, made his IPL debut in 2017 with the Rising Pune Supergiants. After that, he became a member of the Mumbai Indians squad after being selected for a fee of Rs 1.9 crore. After 43 wickets in 42 games in the IPL, he has had a fairly successful run.
His best stint came in last season in IPL 2021 where he picked 13 wickets in 11 games with an average of 24.46.
The young spinner went under the hammer in IPL 2022 Mega Auction last month and was sold for a price of Rs 5.25 crore to the Mayank Agarwal-led Punjab Kings.
