Rashtriya Raksha University, an Institution of National Importance, the Ministry of Home Affairs signs MoU with the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF)
RRU becomes the Model Specialised Education, Research, and Training Ecosystem for the Central Armed Police Forces, Central Police Organisations, State Police Organisations, and Armed Forces
With the signing of the MoU with the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), the world’s largest reserve police force, RRU emerges as the model specialized education, research, training, and innovation ecosystem for the Central Armed Police Forces, Central Police Forces, State Police Organisations and Armed Forces. Among other CAPFs and CPOs, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), National Security Guard (NSG), Border Security Force (BSF), Indo-Tibet Border Police (ITBP), National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) have functional cooperation covering all aspects of teaching, research, innovation, and training with the RRU.
Professor Bimal N. Patel, Vice-Chancellor, Rashtriya Raksha University (www.rru.ac.in), and Dr. Sujoy Lal Thaosen, Director-General, Central Reserve Police Force (www.crpf.gov.in) witnessed the historic academic collaboration event today Thursday, 22 June 2023. Vice-Chancellor Patel, assuring the CRPF of all possible cooperation as an Institution of National Importance, laid particular emphasis on the Suraksha Karmayogi mission of the University. He highlighted that more than 12,000 persons from India and 48 foreign nations have benefitted under more than 150 training programs offered by the University. RRU assured that it is committed to providing high standards training with the best resource persons from across the globe, with the support of ITEC-Ministry of External Affairs, to make CRPF forces ahead of the curve in anticipating, mitigating, and eliminating internal security and order challenges. Vice-Chancellor Patel expressed the help and support the University is receiving to contribute towards the realization of the Surakshit Ek Bharat Akhand Bharat vision of the Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Modi and the mission of the Hon’ble Union Home Minister, Shri Amit Shah, towards the same. Under the MoU, CRPF personnel will be able to benefit from diploma and degree programs, get accreditation and recognition of training leading towards diploma and degree, exchange of resource persons, and conduct research at RRU or CRPF facilities, among others.
Director-General Thaosen expressed appreciation to the RRU for the academic collaboration and emphasized the need for training and technological innovations. Dr. Thaosen appreciated that RRU will be able to provide specialized programs for mental well-being and psychological endurance enhancement training to the forces. Expressing pride and honor of the CRPF, he highlighted the need for leadership training and how the forces in the ever-increasingly challenging environment can continue to contribute to national integrity by preserving law and order.
