The United States R’Bonney Gabriel was named Miss Universe 2022 during a ceremony on January 15 in New Orleans. The 28-year-old was crowned in the 71st Miss Universe pageant’s grand finale by Miss Universe 2021 Harnaaz Sandhu.
Even though she did well in every round, it was her response in the last Question and Answer round that decided the outcome. All three contestants were asked this question at the Miss Universe 2022 final question round: “If you win, how would you work to show that this is an empowering and progressive organization?”
The Miss Universe’s official account on Twitter has shared a brief video of the Q&A session. The judges were won over by Miss USA’s response, in which she stated that she would utilize “fashion as a force for good.” She emphasized how winning the pageant would allow her to expand on her experience with victims of domestic abuse and human trafficking.
“Well, I would employ it to lead in a transformative way. I use fashion as a force for good since I am a highly enthusiastic designer and have been sewing for 13 years. When I produce my garments, I use recycled materials to reduce pollution in my industry. I give sewing lessons to women who have endured domestic abuse and human trafficking. And I say that because it is crucial to invest in people, our community, and ourselves in order to use your special skill to change the world. Everyone has something unique, and when we instill those qualities in others in our lives, we alter them and use that as a catalyst for change “R’Bonney Gabriel, Miss USA 2022, answered.
