Union Minister Pralhad Joshi, on Monday, took to social media to announce that the idol of Lord Ram Lalla, crucial for the consecration ceremony, will be crafted by the skilled hands of Karnataka’s renowned sculptor, Arun Yogiraj. The decision showcases the trust’s commitment to choosing exceptional craftsmanship for adorning the grand Ram temple.
Former Karnataka Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa expressed his joy on social media, extending congratulations to sculptor Arun Yogiraj. The selection of Yogiraj’s sculpted idol for installation in the magnificent Sri Rama Mandir of Ayodhya was met with pride and happiness among Ram devotees. Yediyurappa’s congratulatory message added to the acknowledgment of Yogiraj’s talent and the significance of his contribution.
Accompanying Pralhad Joshi’s announcement was a photograph capturing Arun Yogiraj posing alongside the meticulously crafted idol of Lord Ram. Countdown to Grand Consecration
The eagerly awaited consecration ceremony of the Ram temple is scheduled for January 22. In a touching moment, Arun Yogiraj’s mother, Saraswathi, expressed her happiness on the selection of her son’s creation for the installation in Ayodhya. Despite not being able to witness the sculpting process, Saraswathi conveyed her anticipation for the day of the installation, highlighting the emotional journey for the artist and his family.

Bimlendra Mohan Pratap Mishra, the trustee of Ram Janmbhoomi Teertha Kshetra, provided insights into the selection process. Describing the captivating nature of the chosen idol, Mishra emphasized that the selected idol possesses a unique charm that draws observers. The meticulous decision-making process involved the trustees’ careful consideration of multiple designs before finalizing the one that truly mesmerized.
Champat Rai, the secretary of Shri Ram Janmbhoomi Teerth Kshetra, played a pivotal role in the decision-making process. His announcement earlier, highlighting the choice of a 51-inch-tall idol of Lord Ram reflecting a five-year-old Ram Lalla, revealed the emphasis on divineness and a childlike appearance as crucial factors in the selection.
