Critical Analysis of the Gujarati Movie “Hahacar”
Today, a new Gujarati movie called “HaHaKar has been released, which was highly anticipated and had good advance bookings. How is the movie? Let’s talk about that.
“Hahacar” is a situational suspense comedy that takes you on a wild, chaotic journey packed with drama, all unfolding in the span of one night.
Mayur Chauhan has again proved that he is a very good actor. His performance in the movie “Hahacar” is top-notch.
The movie revolves around 3 friends Hitu, Pario, and Bhailu. Two of them Hitu and Pario are working as waiters and the third one is unemployed. The main character of Hitu is played by Mayur Chauhan AKA Michael, Pario is played by Hemang Shah and Bhailu is played by Mayank Gadhvi.
Coincidently, Bhailu lands on the heads of Hitu and Pario as a room partner but he is unemployed and only knows how to drive the car. This skill of Bhailu is the main cause of trouble.
As it was apparent from the trailer, these three friends try to rob the passenger in a shared car and then all the chaos happens. One trouble after another comes in front of these three in their car and how they handle each situation and come out of it and what happens at the end is the main crunch of the story and the movie.
Most probably we will see the second part of it as the makers have left a clue at the end of the movie that they will bring the second part.
The most impressive point from my opinion of the film is the performance of Mayur Chauhan. This man is superb, he has nailed his character and has given everything he has. He was also impressive to me in “Samandar” and again he has proved that he belongs to this industry. His body language and facial expression are excellent. He has a slim and flexible body and is a graceful dancer, there are only a few dance steps but whatever he has done has done gracefully.
Hemang Shah is also impressive, he looks great as such a character actor. The new kid on the block is Mayank Gadhvi is impressive with his cute and chubby face and has played the role of Bhailu. The kid is huge by stature but cute and has played a cute little lunatic kind of a role and has impressed the audience.
Chetan Dhaiya, Hetal Puniwala and Vaishak Ratanben all three great actors have played a cameo in the “Hahacar” movie and have been very impressive, especially Vaishak Ratanben chanting “Anando Anando”.
Pratiksinh Chava has written and directed this movie. As it is his first attempt as a writer-director, it seems that he has made his presence felt in the film industry. Though there are many flaws in his writing and direction still as a first attempt it is impressive. He will surely improve his skills in his upcoming projects and will learn the lessons from the mistakes on his first attempt.
The writer Pratiksinh Chavda has forgotten that there should be at least a small character of female in a movie. What I mean is there is no glamour in the movie. Practically, no prominent female character at all.
There are few songs in the movie and they are pretty much impressive. The song “Madhro Darodo Mehke Che” is already viral on the internet, but it is at the end of the movie, sad. Jignesh Kaviraj gives the voice for this song. The other prominent Bollywood singer, Vishal Dadlani has also given his voice to one of the songs.
The music of this film is also impressive and is given by Parth Bharat Thakkar.
Positive Points:
- Excellent Performance: The lead actors and the most impressive are Mayur Chauhan, Hemang Shah and Mayank Gadhvi.
- Good Melodious songs and one of it is already viral on the internet.
- Engaging Twists: A few twists in the movie are very impressive and give a small surprise to the audience.
- Balanced Humor and Suspense: The film is both exciting and suspenseful since it deftly combines light-hearted comic events with great tension.
Negative Points:
- No Depth In The Story: The story does not lead to any targeted audience and hence lacks engagement.
- No Character Development: The main character of Hitu (Mayur) is undeveloped and starts from nowhere, which is a bit surprising to me.
- No Glamour: There is no prominent female character in the movie, which I felt is a bit drawback of the story and the movie.
- Too Much Alcohol and Smoking: Too much alcohol and smoking situations and scenes are shown in the dry state of Gujarat.
- No Targeted Audience: The writer wrote the story without keeping in mind his targeted audience. The movie is landing nowhere.
In conclusion
Overall, the movie offers a refreshing comedy with some thrills. It is a one-time watch movie. No message should be taken from this movie. Just watch and enjoy, there is nothing to learn from this movie. Only to praise the lead actors for their performance, especially Mayur Chauhan, AKA Michael.
