“S2G2” is a romantic, action suspense movie that means it has everything. After a long time, I have seen a Gujarati movie which has action in it, awesome. The more exciting for me to see the hero, Maulik Chauhan doing action scenes, and truly speaking he looks excellent doing action. His facial expression was up to the mark and made an impact.
Personally, I liked the onscreen romantic chemistry between Maulik Chauhan and Katha Patel, and also the rise of an Action star Maulik Chauhan.
It is a complete Gujarati commercial masala movie that is what the audience wants, which has everything for every age and gender.

The Plot and Story
The movie starts with the police inspector doing action scenes against the kidnapping and child trafficking goons. The story is about a photographer Vivek played by The Action star of the Gujarati Film Industry Maulik Chauhan and his fashion designer friend Nishika played by gorgeous Katha Patel. There are other two characters also in the movie who have their love story going in parallel. The child trafficking is the key issue raised by the movie makers and this suspense story goes side by side along with the classic and beautiful love story of Vivek and Nishika. Both these stories combine and create predictable suspense. Sorry to say, but I could predict both the suspense at the beginning of the movie itself.
The Acting
Maulik Chauhan as a photographer cum bla bla bla looks awesome on screen. He has done action scenes quite brilliantly, his facial expressions according to the requirement of the scene changes and that’s a great sign of a good actor. He has done action scenes for the first time in his career and has done quite well. He has done workshops for action scenes. He also looks good while performing romantic scenes with Nishika (Katha Patel). Their onscreen chemistry is perfect. Full marks to Maulik Chauhan the Action Star Maulik Chauhan for his acting as an action hero.
Katha Patel looks beautiful and gorgeous on the screen, however during some scenes she was not up to the mark, but overall she has done a commendable job.
Archan Trivedi has performed the role of a calculator uncle which suits him and I can bet no one else could have done better than him. He made his presence felt on screen whenever he was on screen. He is superb as usual and you will love to watch him and he will make you smile, that’s what you want from a movie.
The two new youngsters, Shrey Maradiya, and Priyal Bhatt have also played a major role in the movie. They have also got good screen timing and have done well as a newcomer. Their appearance on the screen excites the audience and makes them feel romantic.
The Direction
Rakesh Shah’s direction in “S2G2” is good, showcasing his grip on storytelling and visual narrative. The screenplay and storytelling are a bit different in S2G2 and I will give this credit to Rakesh Shah. A few of the aerial shots are excellent and camera angles, lighting are excellent.
The Cinematography
The DOP of the movie “S2G2” is one of the key factors when the movie has action and romantic scenes. The cinematography is done by Nasir Khan. Wide shots of the city show a big view of the scene and make it large, while close-up shots focus on emotions and important moments clearly. Lighting and framing choices make the film feel intense during important parts.
The Screenplay
The screenplay of “S2G2” I liked the screenplay way it created suspense and curiosity in the mind of the audience as to what will happen next. The action scenes in the movie are great, and good to see some of the action scenes not exactly equal to Bollywood standards but definitely getting closer. The story is well-written and easy to follow. The characters talk in interesting ways that move the story along well. The movie has exciting parts and also moments where you can really think about what’s happening what is going to happen and why this scene was shown and at the end it all gets clear and this helps you understand and care about the characters more.
Positive Points:
- The new Action Star is born Maulik Chauhan. Very well performed act by lead actors, Maulik Chauhan and Archan Trivedi. Also, very well supported by Katha Patel, Shrey, and Priyal.
- After a long time good action is seen in Gujarati movies, keep up the good work.
- Skillful direction by Rakesh Shah, balancing suspense and character development.
- The story and the screenplay make sense, some dialogues are excellent.
- The song sung by Javed Ali is full of romance and excellent in all aspects.
- Two songs in the movie and both do not break the story but rather make it more engaging.
Negative Points
- The suspense is a bit predictable.
- There are a few scenes and moments that made me bored.
- At some point, I felt a bit bored and thought these scenes were too long, especially in the second half.
- One or two scenes which were there in the trailer are not there in the film, surprising e.g. (Priyal hitting Shrey with the belt)
- Few more comedy dialogues would have added the flavour.
- VFX is poor.
Conclusion:
“S2G2” emerges as a complete masala Gujarati movie that blends romance, action, comedy and suspense. It’s a one-time watch movie.
