Shree B G Patel College of Physiotherapy (SBGPCOPA) hosted an informative symposium on knee osteoarthritis to inform students of the most recent advancements in the field. Medical professionals, physiotherapy students, and specialists in musculoskeletal healthcare attended the event on Thursday.

The SBGPCOPA Department of Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy organized the conference to provide students with scientific advances and practical information on controlling osteoarthritis (OA) in the knee. Dr. G.G. Patel, the college chairman, presided over the occasion, and the main guest was renowned joint replacement and arthroscopic surgeon Dr. Ashish Brahmbhatt.

In his introductory remarks, Chairman Dr. G.G. Patel praised Principal Dr. Manojkumar for his goal of encouraging students to learn continuously. According to him, keeping abreast of contemporary treatment methods would guarantee that students develop into healthcare professionals prepared for the future.

According to Dr. Patel, osteoarthritis in the knee is becoming more and more common, and physiotherapists must be knowledgeable about the newest pain relief, treatment, and rehabilitation approaches. “This symposium is not just an academic exercise; it is an essential step in preparing students to serve patients better,” he stated.

The main guest, Dr. Ashish Brahmbhatt, discussed his knowledge of osteoarthritis in the knee and the latest developments in its management. He urged students to embrace a mindset of lifelong learning and to “learn, relearn, and upskill continuously” to maintain their competitiveness in the workplace.

Dr. Ashish Brahmbhatt discussed his expertise in knee OA treatment, including complete knee replacement procedures and other developments.
Effective pain management strategies for patients with OA knees were covered by principal Dr. Manojkumar.
In her discussion on the evaluation of the OA knee joint, Dr. Dipti Padole described the several diagnostic methods that are employed to ascertain the severity of the ailment.
