RRU and IAQS Partner to Launch Innovative Hybrid MSc Program

On April 22, 2025, the School of Private, Industrial and Corporate Security Management (SPICSM) at Rashtriya Raksha University (RRU), in collaboration with the Institute of Actuarial and Quantitative Studies (IAQS), announced the launch of a new two-year hybrid program: M.Sc. in Actuarial Science with Data Analytics (MSc – ASDA). The announcement was made during a press conference held at Circuit House, Shahibaug, Ahmedabad.

Program Overview: A two-year hybrid course combining actuarial science, risk analysis, and data analytics, designed to prepare professionals for national security and emerging challenges in the security domain.

Admission Criteria:

Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Engineering, IT, or Mathematics with a minimum of 50% marks in the fifth semester.

Candidates with less than 80% marks in the fifth semester must clear the RCET Aptitude Test and Personal Interview.

Exemption from RCET for students who have passed the actuarial equivalent examination.

Fee Structure:

First Year: ₹3,17,335/-

Second Year: ₹3,50,760/-

Fees include tuition, library, university charges, study materials, and industry training.

Industry Linkages: The program includes internships and collaboration opportunities with industry partners to provide practical experience.

Placement Assistance: Dedicated placement cell offering 100% placement assistance, including resume building and interview preparation.
Prof.. (Dr.) Bimal N. Patel, Vice Chancellor of RRU, expressed gratitude to IAQS and emphasized the importance of such collaborative programs in bridging the skill gap in actuarial science and data analytics. He highlighted the program’s relevance to the Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India’s (IRDAI) mission to ‘Insure India by 2047’ by preparing professionals capable of creating inclusive, data-driven insurance solutions.
Prof. Patel also mentioned the goal of preparing 25,000 actuarial professionals through this program by 2030, positioning India as a leader in the field of actuarial science.
Mr. Aman Loharuka, Director of IAQS, provided a detailed overview of the MSc – ASDA program, discussing its unique structure and strategic relevance in the evolving security landscape.
Mr. Nimesh Dave, Director of SPICSM, expressed his appreciation for the interactive session with press representatives and discussed the academic and strategic features of the program.
