Gandhinagar, Gujarat: Rashtriya Raksha University (RRU) recently organized an impactful one-day CSRO Roundtable focusing on the theme, “Intellectuals and Corporates Meet for Sustainable Community Development Initiatives.” The event brought together intellectuals, corporate leaders, and academic professionals under one roof to brainstorm innovative strategies for driving meaningful societal change through Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR).
The event was graced by the presence of distinguished guests. Chief Guest Prof. (Dr.) Bimal N. Patel, Vice-Chancellor of RRU, shared the institution’s vision for fostering innovation, security, and resilience. Joining him were Shri Vasant Gadhavi, Executive Director of the Adani Foundation, and Shri Bharat Patel, Honorary Secretary General of the Knowledge Chamber of Commerce & Industry, who served as Guests of Honour.
Over 30 leading organizations participated, including renowned names like Adani Foundation, ONGC, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), Union Bank of India, ICICI Bank, and Infinity Retail-Tata Croma.
The roundtable began with an introduction by Prof. (Dr.) Priyanka Sharma, Dean of the Extension and Distance Learning Directorate. She emphasized the need for collaboration between academia and the corporate sector to address societal challenges effectively. Prof. Sharma highlighted the potential of public-private partnerships and innovative CSR practices to foster sustainable community development.
Mr. Ravish Shah, Director of International Cooperation and Relations, laid out the agenda for the day. Discussions revolved around critical topics such as innovative CSR approaches, resource pooling, and creating impactful projects through collaboration.
In his address, Prof. (Dr.) Bimal N. Patel detailed RRU’s TREE model (Training, Research, Education, and Extension). This unique framework aims to blend education with practical skills and community engagement.
