In a big move to help students with disabilities, an organization called the National Centre for Promotion of Employment for Disabled People (NCPEDP) has partnered with Bajaj Finserv Limited to create a special scholarship program. This program will give money to disabled students in Uttar Pradesh and Maharashtra, up to Rs 1 lakh, to help them with their education. It doesn’t matter if they’re in secondary school, senior secondary school, or higher education.
They are also holding special workshops in Uttar Pradesh and Maharashtra to teach people about the rights of disabled people in India and to help disabled students find good jobs.
The head of NCPEDP, Arman Ali, said they really want to help disabled students get a good education. The workshops they’re doing in different cities show how much they care about making sure disabled people know their rights.
In one of these workshops in Lucknow, experts talked to the students. They talked about how important it is for disabled people to be able to use things and services easily. They also talked about how girls with disabilities sometimes have a harder time getting an education. They told the students about some programs that the government has to help disabled people, especially girls. They also talked about the problems that women with disabilities face.
One person who works at NCPEDP, Akshay Jain, told the students about a law called the RPWD Act 2016. This law gives rights to people with disabilities in India.
More than 100 people came to the workshop in Lucknow. They were students with disabilities, people who help disabled people, teachers, and parents. The workshop helped them learn more about the rights and problems of disabled people.
The NCPEDP-Bajaj Finserv Scholarship program does more than just give money. It helps pay for things like school fees, technology that can help disabled students and other things they need for school. This program is a big effort by NCPEDP and Bajaj Finserv to help disabled students get a good education and good jobs.
