SECOND CONVOCATION OF RASHTRIYA RAKSHA UNIVERSITY
On 17th October 2022, Rashtriya Raksha University (An Institution of National Importance), Ministry of Home Affairs, Govt. of India is conducting the Second Convocation to award the degrees and merit prizes to the graduating batch of 2021-2022 of various courses of the university in the presence of Shri Rajnath Singh, Hon’ble Raksha Mantri, Govt. of India, who will be the Chief Guest of the Convocation. Shri Bhupendrabhai Patel, Hon’ble Chief Minister of Gujarat, will be the Guest of Honour and shall deliver the Distinguished Address.
The university is set to award 319 students of which 23 are Diploma students, 123 Under-Graduates (UG), 126 Post-Graduates (PG), 44 PG Diplomas, 1 M. Phil and 2 PhD scholars. The Chief Guest shall award the University Gold Medal to 10 students from UG and PG courses, and 2 PhD scholars; on the basis of their excellence in academics and overall performance in their respective courses. In addition, certificates will also be awarded to 3 Fire Fighters from the Institute of Fire Safety & Disaster Management Studies, Baroda.
Previously, the university had successfully organised the First Convocation on 12th March 2022, in the auspicious presence of Shri Narendra Modi, Hon’ble Prime Minister of India, as the Chief Guest for the event and Shri Amit Shah, Hon’ble Union Home Minister, Govt. of India as the Guest of Honour.
Rashtriya Raksha University is established by the Indian Parliament Act No. 31, the Rashtriya Raksha University Act of 2020. The University aims to become an academic-research-training ecosystem for national security and police. Its endeavours focus on highly professional national security, police education, research, and training through its qualified civilian and security faculty, committed human resources, motivated participants and students, intellectually stimulating and professionally disciplined environment, and world-wide network sharing and exchange. It aims at providing security and strategic education in the contemporary and futuristic security and strategic studies and interdisciplinary areas. The University contributes to the vision of an India of Peace, Prosperity and Stable World Alliance with grand strategic co-operation between like-minded nations and promoting greater understanding between internal security officers, military and paramilitary forces, diplomats, civil servants, and civilians to promote the cause of the Nation. It adopts a two-tier approach, at national and international levels, in its education, research and training, and extension in order to achieve capabilities to respond to the needs, expectations, and aspirations of the security and strategic institutions and forces as well as law-making, governance, judiciary, economy (agriculture-manufacturing-service sectors) and the civil society organizations.
