Special Scholarship for 100 Disabled Students in Maharashtra

Mumbai: A group called the National Centre for Promotion of Employment for Disabled People (NCPEDP) has joined with Bajaj Finserv Limited to start a special scholarship. This scholarship can give up to Rs 1 lakh to disabled students. They recently had a workshop in Mumbai to teach disabled students, their families, and social workers about their rights and special programs that can help them. Many experts came to share their knowledge.

The NCPEDP-Bajaj Finserv Scholarship will give money to 100 disabled students in Maharashtra and Uttar Pradesh. These students are studying at different levels of school, like Secondary, Senior Secondary, and Higher Education.

Arman Ali, who works at NCPEDP, said, “We want to give good education to every disabled student so they can feel strong and capable.”

This workshop happened before in Lucknow. “We really want to help disabled students, and we want to do more workshops like this,” said Ali.

The workshop was at K J Somaiya College of Engineering. It talks about important things. One was about “Accessibility and Financial Literacy.” Another talked about “Getting Ready for a Job.” These talks were led by different experts and were very helpful for students with disabilities, social workers, other students, and parents.

A person named Akshay Jain, who helps with programs at NCPEDP, talked about how important it is for young people with disabilities to learn. He said education can make a big difference and workshops like this can help make good changes.

The scholarship program will help with school fees, things like special technology, and other things that can help disabled students do well in school. NCPEDP and Bajaj Finserv are working together to help disabled students learn and succeed.
