Sudhaa Chandran, the talented actor from COLORS’ show “Doree,” has won hearts with her powerful role as a dominating matriarch. Despite receiving love for her portrayal, Sudhaa faced a significant challenge during the shoot in Varanasi. In a crucial scene, she had to take a dip in the Ganges, a task that was daunting for her due to a lifelong fear of drowning.
Opening up about the experience, Sudhaa said, “Varanasi is special to me, but shooting for ‘Doree’ made it memorable. When I learned I had to take a dip in the Ganges, I was reminded of a scary incident from my past. Years ago, I slipped in a water body and had a fear of drowning since then. Shooting in the Ganges brought back those inhibitions, considering the water’s uncertainty. Thankfully, the ‘Doree’ team was supportive, and safety measures were in place. Despite my fears, the spiritual atmosphere of Varanasi helped me overcome them.”
In the current storyline, Doree and Ganga Prasad, played by Amar Upadhyay, face challenges from weavers due to their opposition to Anand Thakur, Kailashi Dev’s son. Anand gets arrested by Inspector Bhairavi, leading to Kailashi Devi’s anger. The question remains: how will the matriarch seek revenge on Doree?
