Sunrisers Hyderabad IPLCoaches: Brian Lara, West Indies’ all-time leading batsman with almost 22,000 runs in international cricket, has signed with Sunrisers Hyderabad in the Indian Premier League (IPL).
Lara has been named the team’s batting coach. He will also serve as a Strategic Advisor in addition to his other responsibilities. After VVS Laxman was named Director of the National Cricket Academy, the Sunrisers made this decision.
In addition to Brian Lara there are five other coaches making the total of Six Coaches in Sunrisers Hydrabad Team for IPL 2022.
Tom Moody: Head Coach
Simon Katich: Assistant Coach
Brian Lara: Batting Coach, Advisor
Dale Styne: Fast Bowling Coach
Muthaih Murlidharan: Spin Bowling Coach, Strategy
Hemang Badani: Fielding Coach
The post of fast bowling coach has been assigned to Steyn. Muttiah Muralitharan will be responsible for spin bowling at the same time he will also be responsible for making Strategies for the team.
Lara is one of cricket’s most illustrious players. In 131 Test matches, he has scored 11953 runs. In this format, Lara’s best score is 400 not out. In Test cricket, he has 34 hundred and 48 half-centuries.
Significantly, Sunrisers Hyderabad finished last in the IPL 2021 points table. Out of 14 matches, they only won three. In 11 of their encounters, they were defeated. Following this performance, the team’s management opted to make a change and entrusted Lara, Steyn, and Muralitharan with the coaching duties.
