SVPI Airport Wins 5 Awards for Making Travel Better

Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport (SVPI) in Ahmedabad has won five gold awards for making air travel better. They received these awards at a competition organized by the Quality Circle Forum of India.
The airport’s teams came up with smart ideas to improve the airport experience for travelers. They won awards in categories like Kaizen (continuous improvement), 5S (cleanliness and order), and other useful ideas.
One project focused on making the new food and drink area better. They improved the way they handled wastewater.
The airport also did things to save energy. They made the air conditioning system better for the environment. They also used better equipment to save energy when cooling the buildings.

The team that helps travelers with reduced mobility also got an award. They made special spaces for people in wheelchairs to get their luggage. They also made parking and toilets better for people with mobility issues.

Another team made the airport cleaner and more organized. They used less paper in the bathrooms and made them smell better. They also made the airport look nicer with better signs and made it easier to move luggage around.
