Mithali Raj Retires from all formats of the Game

Taapsee Pannu, who described Mithali Raj as “really a legend,” highlighted the cricketer’s efforts on the day she announced her retirement, saying she “changed the game of cricket in terms of the participation of women.” “There are cricketers who have records to their credit.” There are cricketers who have a large fan base. There are those cricketers who inspire you and convince you that if they can do it, so can you! “And then there’s Mithali, who achieved it all in her signature graceful style while also changing the game of cricket in terms of women’s presence,” she remarked.

Taapsee Pannu, who will play Mithali Raj in ‘Shabaash Mithu,’ said she is privileged ‘as a fan who got to live her magnificent 23-year journey.’ “She will be recognized for her contribution to women’s cricket all around the world, not only in our country.” As a fan, I was simply too fortunate to be able to see her incredible 23-year journey on camera, which taught me so much about tenacity and perseverance. “She is a true legend for whom we will never be grateful enough,” Taapsee remarked.

Taapsee also paid a social media tribute to Mithali by sharing a photo with her. Mithali Raj, who first represented India in 1999, retired from all forms of international cricket on Wednesday.

“Thank you for all your love and support over the years!” she said in a statement on social media. With your blessing and support, I look forward to my second inning. As a young child, I started out on a trip to wear the India blues since it is the utmost honor to represent your country. There were some highs and some lows along the way. Every experience taught me something new, and the last 23 years have been the most rewarding, difficult, and pleasurable of my life.

“Like all trips, this one must come to a close as well. Mithali added, “Today is the day I resign from all kinds of international cricket.”

Mithali has represented India in 12 Tests, 232 One Day Internationals, and 89 Twenty20 Internationals over her 23-year career.
