After the IPL Governing Council Meeting, which was held electronically on Thursday, BCCI secretary Jay Shah approved the schedule for IPL 2022.

According to the BCCI, IPL 2022 will be held in a bio-secure environment, with only two host cities chosen to “prevent air travel, which is regarded a major hazard for the transmission of Covid-19 infection, hence harming the players and the League/matches.”
The 10 teams will compete in a total of 14 league matches (7 at home and 7 away), for a total of 70 league matches, followed by four playoff matches. Five teams will be played twice by each side, while the remaining four teams will only be played once (2 only home and 2 only away).
League Stage Matches of IPL 2022
- 4 matches each at Wankhede Stadium and DY Patil Stadium.
- 3 matches each at Brabourne Stadium (CCI) and MCA International Stadium, Pune.
