• IISF-2022 will be held in Bhopal from January 21 to 24, 2023.

The International Science Film Festival of India is one of 15 themed programmes in the festival, which has as its theme “Marching towards Amrit Kaal with Science, Technology, and Innovation.”
• The “Young Scientist Conference” will include about 1500 young scientists and researchers.
• The “Mega Science Expo” will highlight India’s strength in science and technology.
• The “Startup Conclave” will highlight cutting-edge biotechnology startups.
Together, students and aspiring scientists attempt to break the “Guinness Book World Record.”
• The “Student Science Village” will be one of the 8th IISF’s primary draws.
This year, the Student Innovation Festival (SIF)-022 has also been included.
A science literature festival called “Vigyanika” will also be held in conjunction with the 8th IISF.

The 8th India International Science Festival (IISF) will take place at the Maulana Azad National Institute of Technology (MANIT), Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh, from January 21–24, 2023. The festival known as “Vigyan Mahakumbh” would draw scientists, technologists, policymakers, artisans, startups, farmers, researchers, students, and innovators from India and outside.
“IISF is a festival to celebrate the achievements of India’s scientific and technological advancements with students, innovators, craftsmen, farmers, scientists, and technocrats from India and abroad,” said Dr. Jitendra Singh, the Union Minister of State for Science and Technology (Independent Charge) and Minister of State (Independent Charge) for the Ministry of Earth Sciences.
Additionally, Dr. Jitendra Singh urged for more Deep Tech firms and startups with an Indian stamp in more recent fields. “IISF-2022 is crucial since it falls on the same year that India takes over as G-20 president. According to Dr. Singh, the festival’s events will support the G20’s global theme of “One Earth, One Family, and One Future.”
Marching towards Amrit Kaal with Science, Technology, and Innovation is the theme of this year’s IISF. The universal celebration of science is the main goal of IISF. The IISF offers the scientific community and the general public the chance to interact and share in the excitement of pursuing science for the benefit of India and humanity through its innovative programmes and activities.
Dr. Jitendra Singh said that multiple events would be running concurrently with the participation of more than 8,000 delegates from all across the country and abroad at the IISF’s “Curtain Raiser” programme hosted in New Delhi. More than a lakh locals are anticipated to attend the festival, which will be remembered for its exceptional magnificence and scientific inventiveness.
IISF 2022 is being organised jointly by the Ministries of Science and Technology (MoS&T), Earth Sciences (MoES), Department of Atomic Energy (DAE), Department of Space (DoS), Government of India, and Government of Madhya Pradesh. The Festival is coordinated by the Ministry of Science & Technology’s Department of Biotechnology. The local partner is the Madhya Pradesh Council of Science and Technology (MPCOST), and the knowledge partner is Vijnana Bharati (VIBHA). The event is being organised by the Regional Centre for Biotechnology (RCB), Department of Biotechnology, in Faridabad. Similar to other editions, the event is being organised by a number of additional S&T Ministries and Departments. A science colony will be built specifically for the IISF-2022, according to Om Prakash Saklecha, Minister of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises and Science and Technology in the Government of Madhya Pradesh.
For students, scientists, innovators, citizens, politicians, and industry, including startups, IISF offers a distinctive platform for interaction. India has entered a period known as the “Amrit Kaal,” during which it is crucial to increase everyone’s access to science so that they can contribute to the development of the country in the genuine sense of Janbhagidari (people’s involvement). The use of science, technology, and innovations to address social challenges is the focus of this year’s IISF.
Throughout the festival, fifteen various events will be held, including: State Science & Technology Councils Conclave, Startup Conclave, Students’ Innovation Festival (SIF), Students Science Village 2022, VIGYANIKA – Science Literature Festival, Young Scientists Conference, Guinness Book of World Records, Mega Science and Technology Exhibition, National Social Organizations and Institutions Meet (NSOIM), New Age Technologies Show, Science through Games and Toys, Students’ Innovation Festival (SIF), Students Science Village 2022,
A once-in-a-lifetime chance for students to engage directly with famous Indian figures, scientists, and businessmen will be Face-to-Face with Frontiers of Science at IISF-2022. 1200–1400 students from eighth grade through postgraduate level will attend the interactive event.
To inform the children and parents about potential new activities, a mentor’s desk will be put up. The event will also have a unique area showing smart and intelligent toys for the benefit of schoolchildren and their parents.
The country’s own science and technology OTT channel, India Science (https://www.indiascience.in), has uniquely developed fifteen short videos presenting the major themes of all fifteen events.
Since the event’s start in 2015, IISF-2022 is the seventh iteration. IISF’s first and second iterations took place in New Delhi, while its third iteration took place in Chennai, its fourth in Lucknow, its fifth in Kolkata, its sixth through a virtual format, and its final iteration took place in Goa. COVID-19 presented a significant threat to this yearly event in 2020. The organisation of the programme on a virtual platform, however, was not permitted to disrupt its flow.
