The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) cleared Aryan Khan, the son of Bollywood celebrity Shah Rukh Khan, of all charges in the drugs-on-cruise case on Friday.
According to news agency PTI, the Narcotics Control Bureau cleared Aryan Khan, son of Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan, of all charges in the drugs-on-cruise case on Friday. Khan was also left out of the charge sheet issued by the National Crime Bureau in the case.
Except for Aryan Khan and Mohak, all of the defendants in the case involving a drug seizure from a cruise ship were found to be in possession of narcotics, according to NCB’s DDG (Operations) Sanjay Kumar Singh.
Singh continued, “A complaint has been filed against 14 people under various provisions of the NDPS Act. Due to a lack of proof, a complaint against the other six people will not be filed.”
Khan, 24, was detained on October 3 of last year in connection with the discovery of prohibited substances onboard a cruise ship off the coast of Mumbai. On October 2, the narcotics agency busted an alleged drugs party on the Cordelia Cruise ship, which was en route to Goa.
The 24-year-old was being held in judicial custody at Mumbai’s Arthur Road prison. Khan maintained in his plea that he was innocent, that he had committed no crime, and that he had been wrongfully accused in the case.
Officers from the NCB nabbed Khan and seven others after raiding the cruise liner on its way from Mumbai to Goa. After 25 days in jail, he was released on bail on October 28, 2021.
