Thor: Thunder and Love have verified that the forthcoming Marvel film is connected to Moon Knight and Wakanda Forever. On Monday, a new still from the film surfaced online, depicting a gathering of the gods. Jane Foster/Mighty Thor, played by Natalie Portman, is seen sitting next to Valkyrie, played by Tessa Thompson. It’s unclear where the two are located. Another character appears in what appears to be a panther-like costume at the lower right of the image.
Fans quickly speculated that this could be Bast, the Egyptian god who appears in Moon Knight and Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. Bast is a member of the Ennead, a pantheon of Egyptian gods introduced in the Disney live-action series Moon Knight. Bast is also the goddess who guided the first Black Panther, Bashenga, to the Heart-Shaped Herb, the source of the Black Panther’s talents, in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).
On July 8, Thor: Love and Thunder will be released in theatres all across the world. Following the events of Avengers: Endgame, Thor (played by Chris Hemsworth) states that his “superhero-ing days are done” as he prepares to embark on a new chapter of his life. On April 18, Marvel Studios unveiled the first teaser trailer for Thor: Ragnarok, giving us a sneak peek at what’s to come.
Thor declares his retirement in the minute-and-a-half clip, which is set to the tune of Guns N’ Roses’ Sweet Child O’ Mine, shortly after the collapse of his country Asgard in the last Avengers film.
Chris Hemsworth, Tessa Thompson, Natalie Portman, Christian Bale, Chris Pratt, Pom Klementieff, Dave Bautista, Karen Gillan, Sean Gunn, Jeff Goldblum, and Vin Diesel star in the picture.
