IPL 2022 Young Stars
The cash-rich Indian Premier League (IPL) has helped find a number of stars of Indian cricket since its start. Ayush Badoni and Tilak Varma, for example, have lit up the IPL this season, demonstrating that it is certainly a stage where ability meets opportunity.
With the first 11 matches of the IPL 2022 completed, we decided to construct a list of the best young players that have impressed in the league thus far. Here are the top five newcomers.
1. Ayush Badoni (LSG)
So far in IPL 2022, Ayush Badoni has been nothing short of a revelation. He made his mark on the world with a half-century on his debut for the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG). In the second match, he remained unbeaten and smashed 19 off 9 to assist LSG to overcome CSK for the first time in IPL 2022. Badoni is one to watch after scoring 73 runs in two games at a strike rate of 146.
2. Tilak Verma (MI)
Tilkar Varma’s narrative is one of the rags to riches and based on his current form, the Mumbai Indians (MI) appear to have discovered yet another diamond following Jasprit Bumrah and Hardik Pandya.
3. Lalit Yadav (DC)
In the first encounter, Lalit Yadav proved to be the difference-maker for his franchise Delhi Capitals (DC), assisting DC to a win over MI in the final over. The kid, who plays domestic cricket for Delhi, has already scored 73 runs in two IPL games and is known for his strong hitting. Yadav is another one of the IPL 2022 breakout talents to keep an eye on.
4. Abhinav Manohar (GT)
Abhinav Manohar, who smacked a few massive sixes in the last overs of the first game, gave Gujarat Titans supporters a good account of himself. He drew attention after Gujarat Titans paid Rs 2.6 crore for his services, and based on early indications, he’s showing his worth.
5. Akash Deep (RCB)
When it comes to the top 5 IPL 2022 breakthrough players, the only bowler on the list, Akash Deep, has been making headlines with Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB). So far, he’s taken four wickets in two IPL games, three of which came in RCB’s recent triumph over KKR. Can he help RCB break their IPL curse? Only time will tell if this is true.
