Newzdaddy Entertainment updates
In an upcoming TV show on Colors called ‘Dori,’ two talented actors, Toral Rasputra and Anurag Sharma, have joined the cast. The show’s trailer has already caught people’s attention by highlighting an important issue. ‘Dori’ is all set to challenge traditional roles in a story set in Varanasi. It’s about a six-year-old girl named Dori, who, with the help of her foster father, Ganga Prasad, takes on the male-dominated handloom industry.
Kailashi Devi is the head of the Thakuraine Thakur family, a big name in the handloom business. She has chosen her son, Anand Thakur, to be the face of her business. Anand wants to make his mother happy and become the second in command. But this causes problems with his wife, Mansi. The show features Toral Rasputra as Mansi and Anurag Sharma as Anand, a married couple.
Toral Rasputra, talking about her role as Mansi, said, “I’m excited to be a part of ‘Dori’ after playing important roles in Colors’ famous show ‘Balika Vadhu’ and other projects focused on women. Colors is known for telling powerful stories, and ‘Dori’ is no different. It’s a show that talks about gender equality. I play Mansi, the daughter-in-law of Kailashi Devi, who is struggling to stand up against her mother-in-law’s traditional beliefs. I’m fully dedicated to this role, and I hope the audience likes my character.”
Anurag Sharma, who will be playing Anand, said, “I’m thrilled to work with Colors and play Anand, one of the heirs of a big handloom business in Varanasi. Anand is Kailashi Devi’s son, and he’s always done what his mother says. This is a challenging role for me because it’s very different from who I am. I’m proud to be part of a show that talks about important social issues, and I hope the audience connects with it.”
