Introducing Quality to Gujarat’s 5G Model
Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel Adds Quality to Gujarat’s 5G Model at QCI’s Gujarat Gunvatta Sankalp
On Thursday, Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel announced the state’s commitment to achieving success in quality adoption. He made this statement during the inaugural event of Gunvatta Sankalp Gujarat, organized by the Quality Council of India (QCI). This initiative aims to enhance quality standards across various sectors in Gujarat.
The Vision of Gujarat Gunvatta Sankalp
Gujarat Gunvatta Sankalp is an initiative that seeks to support the state government’s efforts through quality interventions. The goal is to build a foundation of quality at the grassroots level and create a holistic quality ecosystem for Viksit Gujarat in the Amrit Kaal. This initiative will focus on key areas such as education and skilling, healthcare, e-commerce, industries and MSMEs, tourism, culture and sports, and social development in the state.
During the inaugural session, Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel emphasized that quality was often overlooked in India until recent years. However, under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, the country is now moving towards a focus on quality.
“Whether it’s Make in India, Digital India, or Atmanirbhar Bharat, every initiative by Prime Minister Narendra Modi has made significant progress. We are now focused on quality, and I am confident that we will achieve 100% success in making quality the cornerstone of development,” said Patel.
Introducing Gunvatta to the 5G Model
Chief Minister Patel highlighted that Gujarat has made rapid progress in building Viksit Gujarat under the 5G model, which stands for Garvu Gujarat (Proud Gujarat), Gunvantu Gujarat (Quality Gujarat), Green Gujarat, Global Gujarat, and Gatishil Gujarat (Dynamic Gujarat).
“Let us add one more G for Gunvatta (quality) to this 5G Gujarat model,” Patel added, underlining the importance of incorporating quality into all aspects of the state’s development.
Quality Council of India’s Commitment
QCI Chairperson Jaxay Shah noted that the historic Salt March began in Ahmedabad, and now, the Quality March is also starting from the city.
“Ahmedabad is my city, where I first learned the fundamentals of quality. Today, as the Chairman of the Quality Council of India, I am filled with immense pride and emotion to host Gujarat Gunvatta Sankalp here. This initiative aligns with our Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modiji’s vision of enhancing the quality of life for every Indian. The Sankalp aims to embed the principles of quality in every facet of life, livelihood, and industry in Gujarat. Together, we will set new benchmarks in quality and excellence, making Gujarat the first Viksit Rajya (developed state) of Viksit Bharat (developed India). This is not just a commitment but a movement towards a brighter, more prosperous future for all proud Gujaratis,” he said.
Building a Quality Culture
QCI Secretary General Chakravarthy T Kannan addressed the gathering, emphasizing that the transformation is not just about standards but about building a quality culture that permeates every aspect of society.
“Just as the Green Revolution transformed Indian agriculture, today will mark the beginning of the quality revolution in Gujarat and across the nation. We are committed to not just starting the journey but also achieving it,” he stated.
