Newzdaddy India News
Rishi Sunak, who is the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, and his wife Akshata Murty had a relaxed dinner together in Delhi. This happened because they were supposed to meet with India’s Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, but that meeting got canceled. The reason for this cancellation was because of a big meeting called the G20 summit that’s happening in India.
Earlier, Rishi Sunak planned to talk to PM Modi at his home in Delhi. But the meeting was canceled even before Rishi Sunak and his wife arrived in India. Instead, PM Modi had a dinner with the President of the United States, Joe Biden.
They were also supposed to attend another event in the evening, but it got canceled too because there were too many rules about where people could go because of the big G20 meeting. This event was organized by the British High Commission.
So, instead of those plans, Rishi Sunak and Akshata Murty decided to have a quiet dinner in a part of Delhi called Lutyens’. They are staying in a fancy hotel called the Shangri-La Hotel, and they just walk to a nearby restaurant for dinner.
Earlier in the day, they talked to some students at a place called the British Council.
Akshata Murty is the daughter of a very rich man named Narayana Murthy, who started a big company called Infosys. She said on Instagram that she’s happy to be back in Delhi for the G20 meeting and feels proud to represent the UK and celebrate the strong connection between the UK and India.
