In a cinematic showdown that has taken the world by surprise, Vijay’s latest film, ‘Leo,’ has emerged as a powerful force at the global box office. This South Indian sensation has even outshone Hollywood heavyweight Leonardo DiCaprio’s ‘Killers Of The Flower Moon,’ as reported by Variety.

‘Leo’ managed to collect an impressive $48.5 million in just four days, a feat that overshadowed the $44 million earnings of ‘Killers Of The Flower Moon’ in the same period. The film’s extraordinary success is a testament to its universal appeal.

The victory parade began in the United States, where ‘Leo’ was released by Prathyangira Cinemas and earned a notable $2.1 million over its opening weekend. In the United Kingdom and Ireland, Ahimsa Entertainment was responsible for its release, and the movie quickly amassed £1.07 million (equivalent to $1.3 million) in the first three days, according to the Variety report.

‘Leo’ not only features Vijay in the lead role but also boasts a talented ensemble cast, including Sanjay Dutt and Trisha, as well as Arjun Sarja, Madonna Sebastian, Gautham Vasudev Menon, Mysskin, Mansoor Ali Khan, George Maryan, Priya Anand, and Mathew Thomas. Notably, this film marks the second collaboration between Vijay and director Lokesh Kanagaraj after the mega-successful ‘Master,’ released in 2021.

‘Leo’ is a part of what Lokesh Kanagaraj has aptly coined the ‘Lokesh Cinematic Universe,’ which includes other critically acclaimed films like ‘Kaithi,’ starring Karthi, and ‘Vikram,’ headlined by legendary actor Kamal Haasan.

Even though ‘Killers Of The Flower Moon’ had a grand premiere at the prestigious Cannes Film Festival, ‘Leo‘ has managed to outshine it on the global stage.
