Indian Speedster Umran Malik

In the last two seasons of the IPL, Umran Malik has established himself as the fastest bowler India has ever produced while playing for Sunrisers Hyderabad. Umran received his first call up to Team India for the T20 series against South Africa starting on June 9 at home, following an impressive season in the IPL 2022. Cricket fans are waiting to see if Umran can break Shoaib Akhtar’s 161 kph fast-bowling record. Umran has stated that he is not focused on Akhtar’s record in response to the same issue.

In the recently concluded IPL 2022, many young Indian bowlers wowed analysts and fans with their sheer pace, but Malik stood out due to his raw pace. The Sunrisers Hyderabad bowler had a breakout season, taking 22 wickets in 14 matches while regularly hitting speeds of over 150 kmph. Malik won the Emerging Player award for his outstanding performance in the IPL 2022.

“Right now, I’m not focused on that. I want to bowl well, in the proper locations, and contribute to my country winning all five matches against South Africa. To preserve my body and strength, I want to keep it at 150 or above.

In the IPL 2022, the 22-year-old seamer routinely delivered rapid deliveries. After Lockie Ferguson (157.3 kph) beat him in the final, he bowled the second fastest delivery of the season at 157 kph.

Abdul Samad, Malik’s statemate, was responsible for his bowling pace. Malik and Samad are both from the state of Jammu and Kashmir and have been practicing together since they were children.

“Abul was a huge inspiration to me. When I used to bowl to him, he would often tell me that I was bowling too slowly. As a result, I’d deliver at a faster speed. The gym and proper workout then assisted me in this “Umran continued.
