Andy Flower is rumored to be in the running to coach the Lucknow team. The other former players like Gary Kirsten of South Africa, Daniel Vettori, and former Indian pacer, Ashish Nehra are also in race for this job.

“We are in contact with some former players for the head coach,” a Lucknow team official said, “but we cannot comment until things are finalized.”

Before the IPL 2020 season, Andy Flower takes over as Kings XI Punjab’s assistant coach. He has been working closely with Punjab head coach Anil Kumble for the past two years. This outstanding Zimbabwean cricketer previously served as the head coach in guiding England to victory in the 2010 T20 World Cup. England has remained at No. 1 in Tests for a long period during his tenure as head coach.

Along with Andy Flower, talk of Kings XI Punjab’s KL Rahul joining the Lucknow team is gathering traction. Punjab has decided not to keep him.

It’s important noting that Sanjiv Goenka paid Rs 7090 crore for the Lucknow team. Along with Lucknow, Ahmedabad will participate in the next IPL. IPL’s blockbuster auction will take place in January.
