Wisden’s Five Test Cricketers Of The Year 2022 include Jasprit Bumrah and Rohit Sharma.-Newz Daddy

Wisden Cricketers’ Almanack, dubbed the “Bible of Cricket,” has picked two Indians – Jasprit Bumrah and Rohit Sharma – in the Wisden Cricketers of the Year for the 2022 edition.

The five players chosen Wisden Cricketers of the Year in the 2022 Wisden Almanack are Jasprit Bumrah, Devon Conway, Ollie Robinson, Rohit Sharma, and Dane van Niekerk. This is the first time two Indians have been included on the list.

Joe Root, on the other hand, has been crowned the World’s Leading Man Cricketer, while Lizelle Lee of South Africa has been dubbed the World’s Leading Woman Cricketer. Mohammed Rizwan of Pakistan has been crowned the World’s Best T20 Cricketer.

Joe Root has the third-most Test runs in history, with 1,708 in the last year.

Wisden commented on Bumrah’s accomplishments and the reasons for his selection: “He played both bat and ball in India’s historic win at Lord’s, as well as bowling a match-winning stint at The Oval. India now leads the series 2-1, with the last match scheduled for July of this year.”

Similarly, Wisden commented on Rohit, saying, “Rohit Sharma was rewarded for an outstanding summer at the top of the order for India, making 368 runs at an average of 52.57 in four Tests. The highlight was a match-defining 127 at The Oval, which was his first Test century away from home.”

The only lady cricketer in the top five cricketers of the year is Dane van Niekerk.
