With an amazing video of Ranbir Kapoor playing snooker with the young actor Varun Buddhadev, Ashutosh Gowariker’s AGPPL, and Bhushan Kumar’s T-Series have announced the release date of Rajiv Kapoor’s last film ‘Toolsidas Junior’ after a long wait.
The makers announced the new release date with a special video featuring Rajiv Kapoor’s nephew Ranbir Kapoor and Toolsidas Junior’s lead actor Varun Buddhadev playing snooker, with Ranbir ending the video with the film’s tagline – Baccha Hai, Phaad Dega!
Toolsidas Junior, which will be released on May 23rd, is legendary actor Rajiv Kapoor’s final film, and it follows the love between a father and son against the backdrop of the underappreciated sport of snooker.
Rajiv Kapoor died on the 9th of February last year after suffering a heart arrest. Ranbir Kapoor, Neetu Kapoor, Randhir Kapoor, Sanjay Kapoor, Maheep Kapoor, Aadar Jain, Armaan Jain, Rima Jain, Kunal Kapoor, producers Ashutosh and Sunita Gowariker, Bhushan Kumar, and director Mridul attended a special screening for the Kapoor family to commemorate a year since his tragic death.
‘Toolsidas Junior’ is Ashutosh Gowariker and Bhushan Kumar’s debut collaboration, however, they previously worked together on Swades, a T-Series film.
Toolsidas Junior is the ideal collective family viewing experience on Netflix, catering to all audiences. It depicts the motivational narrative of a young kid inspired by a passion for the game of Snooker and his passionate and affectionate relationship with his father.
The sports drama, set in Calcutta in 1994, follows the life of a snooker champion (Kapoor) who loses his heart after losing a crucial match. Buddhadev plays his father’s son, who takes it upon himself to get his father’s name back on the winner’s list.
