Young Footballer ‘Khushboo’ Honored for National Selection

On September 26, 2023, an exciting moment unfolded as Khushboo Saroj, a 16-year-old football player from Ahmedabad, was celebrated for her outstanding achievement in football. She was not only representing Gujarat but had also earned a coveted spot in the Indian Women’s Team for the AFC Under-17 Women Championship Qualifier Round-II. Shri Parimal Nathwani, the President of the Gujarat State Football Association (GSFA), took the opportunity to recognize and reward her with a cash prize of Rs 25,000.
Mr. Nathwani didn’t stop there; he also extended his congratulations and appreciation to the football teams from Junagadh and Ahmedabad districts. These teams displayed exceptional talent and sportsmanship in the Reliance Cup 41st Senior Men’s Inter District Football Tournament. They were presented with trophies, medals, and tokens of appreciation to acknowledge their hard work and dedication.
During the felicitation ceremony, Mr. Nathwani handed over the well-deserved reward to Khushboo and commended her for making not only GSFA but the entire state of Gujarat proud. He emphasized the significance of her selection in the Indian Women’s Team for such a prestigious tournament.
In addition to Khushboo’s recognition, the President of GSFA also honored the Junagadh District Football team with the Winners trophy and the Ahmedabad District Football team with the Runners-up trophy for their remarkable performances in the Reliance Cup 41st Senior Men’s Inter District Football Tournament.

They organize various tournaments, including Inter District Football Tournaments and State Men’s and Women’s Inter-Club League Tournaments, to provide opportunities for players of all age groups. These initiatives receive support from the All India Football Federation, the Sports Authority of India, and the Sports Authority of Gujarat.
